Tania Charron
Executive Director
Specialized educator with a bachelor’s degree in psychoeducation, Tania worked as a street worker and development officer before becoming Executive Director of AJOI in 2017, the year she also co-founded Ricochet (Hébergement·Homes).
She is an administrator on the board of directors of ROCQTR (since 2019) and RAPSIM (since 2020). Tania is the winner of the Prix Solidaire Relève de Centraide du Grand Montréal 2019.
Determined, she went to great lengths to bring the voice of young people and vulnerable people and to develop projects that respond to their concerns.
Mother of two wonderful little girls, Tania makes sure to pass on to them her passion for mutual aid, sport, plants and adventure!

Andrée Levesque
Assistant Director
Citizen of the West Island since her childhood, Andrée has a bachelor's degree in human relations.
Since her start at AJOI in 2011, she has held the positions of community worker, project manager, then Assistant Director since 2016.
Developing and deploying projects that help young people and vulnerable people motivate her to the highest degree. Andrée has also been a member of the board of directors of the Table de concertation Enfance-Famille-Jeunesse de l'Ouest-de-l'Île since 2018.

Having obtained a bachelor's degree in Political Science and a certificate in Immigration, Elnaz started working at AJOI in 2020.

Sara Sorial
Finance Coordinator
As soon as she arrived at AJOI in 2015, Sara fell in love with the mission and the services offered by the organization.
Having worked in finance and accounting for more than 20 years, she has mainly worked in the non-profit sector.
Sara believes in the importance of providing a solid foundation for those in charge to do their jobs with confidence. She prides herself on being able to provide stability and assurance when it comes to finances.

Anna-Ève Lapalme
Service Coordinator of Outreach Street and Community Work
Anna-Ève is a circus artist at heart, passionate dancer, mountain hiker and lover of owls. She joined the world of intervention following a significant encounter during a circus contract.
Since falling in love with the world of intervention, she has obtained her diploma in social work, a certificate in mental health (foundations and practices of intervention), a certificate in addiction intervention and is currently obtaining a final certificate in management of health services and social services to obtain a bachelor's degree by accumulation in foundations and practices in social sciences and health.
Anna-Ève worked in a shelter, then in a heat shelter in Lanaudière. She then began her career as an outreach street worker at AJOI with an adult homelessness mandate. After only 6 months in the community, she was able to participate in her dream project: the creation of a heat stop for itinerant people which will become the Ricochet Center.
Through her multiple experiences with people experiencing homelessness, she realized that it is essential to seek additional knowledge regarding intervention with people struggling with post-traumatic shock. She was therefore very interested in psychosomatics and motivational interviewing, which became her fields of expertise.
Now Service Coordinator of Outreach Street and Community Work at AJOI, she accomplishes the organization's mission every day with passion. Her empathy and comforting personality make her endearing and essential for the team.

Fady Alkot
Sports Activities Team Leader
Passionate about sports and a competitive soccer player since the age of 14, Fady is currently completing a master's degree in physiotherapy at McGill University.
Having participated in AJOI's sports activities when he was young, the positive impact it has had in his life has motivated and encouraged him to work as a sports animator at AJOI in 2020 and to become the Sports Activities Team Leader in 2022.
Fady is delighted with the responsibilities assigned to him as Team Leader and he is looking forward to setting up new projects in the months and years to come.

When Saul became an Outreach Street Worker at AJOI, he fulfilled a dream he'd had for several years. While he had an idea of what a street worker's job was, he never imagined it would be so broad and rewarding.
The professional and personal experience he gains every day, and the ongoing training he undergoes, enable him to get to know himself better, and thus to help the most vulnerable people even more. The confidence he has gained along the way enables him to give back to the community.

Having worked as a roofer for 10 years, Peyman discovered outreach street work thanks to his older sister, who is an administrative assistant at AJOI, following a work stoppage due to an injury.
As soon as he joined the organization, he fell in love with helping vulnerable people. Grateful for what beneficiaries, colleagues, trainings and partners bring him, he is happy to learn more about the West Island community and to participate in making it more united and safe.
Peyman has found his calling and hopes to practice this profession for years to come.
In his spare time, he enjoys individual and team sports and enjoys playing video games; Peyman is a sports and gaming enthusiast.

It was through a friend that she discovered the world of outreach street work. Constantly striving to help the people around her, by helping them discover their potential or simply by listening to their stories, Sorana was pleasantly surprised to learn that she could make a career out of it.
Now an outreach street worker in the Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève area, Sorana can be found in libraries, schools and parks. She can often be found with a fantasy book, textile project or sketchbook in hand. In French or English, she loves spontaneous discussions, especially when it comes to mythology, fashion, algorithms and social connections.
