The Halte-Transition is an emergency accommodation resource for individuals who are homeless or who experience residential instability. We welcome everyone, which means low-threshold people, under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Animals are accepted. Compliance with sanitary rules is essential in order to benefit from the services of the Halte-Transition.
Every day, there are a minimum of two psychosocial workers on site who welcome, listen, do interventions and referrals for beneficiaries. On site there is food (snacks, coffee, water, tea), a shower service and five semi-private rooms with single mattresses (two specific rooms reserved for women). For access to a bed, we operate on a "first come, first served" basis. Finally, a concierge is present every night to enforce health measures related to COVID-19. A shuttle service crisscrosses the West Island between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m., with the objective of transporting people who wish to come to the Halte-Transition.
