The West Island warming center is an emergency accommodation resource for individuals who are homeless or who experience residential instability. We welcome everyone, which means low-threshold people, under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Animals are accepted. Compliance with sanitary rules is essential in order to benefit from the services of the Warming Center.
Every day, there are a minimum of two psychosocial workers on site who welcome, listen, do interventions and referrals for beneficiaries. On site there is food (snacks, coffee, water, tea), a shower service and five semi-private rooms with single mattresses (two specific rooms reserved for women). For access to a bed, we operate on a "first come, first served" basis. Finally, a concierge is present every night to enforce health measures related to COVID-19. The AJOI-Mobile service is available to accompany individuals to specific resources as needed.
